Terms of Use
Last updated: August 31, 2026
The short version
Sugarcane 8™ is a pricing and profit reference tool for self-serve salvage yards. It starts with a 3-day free trial, then requires a subscription billed by Apple. Yard prices come from what each yard publishes; resale figures are estimates, not promises. You decide what to pull.
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Sugarcane 8 (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, don't use the app. These terms are between you and Skylar Tech LLC ("we", "us"). Apple is not a party to this agreement.
2. What the app is
Sugarcane 8 helps you decide whether a part is worth pulling. It reads a vehicle from a yard's inventory sticker or a VIN, shows what nearby self-serve yards charge for parts, estimates resale value, and calculates fees, shipping, and profit.
The app does not sell parts, buy parts, list parts for you, or process any transaction between you and a yard or a marketplace.
3. Free trial and subscription
- New users get a 3-day free trial. No account and no sign-up are required to start.
- After the trial, continued access requires an auto-renewing subscription, billed through your Apple ID.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
- Manage or cancel any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change with notice. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment details.
- Restore Purchases is available on the subscription screen if you reinstall or change devices.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Important — about the numbers
Yard prices are taken from the price lists yards publish themselves, and they change without telling anyone. Resale values, fees, shipping costs, and profit figures in the app are estimates. Always confirm the price at the register and confirm resale value at the source before you spend money.
4. Prices, estimates, and no guarantee of profit
Where a yard publishes its own price list, the app shows those prices as published and labels them THIS YARD. Where a yard publishes nothing, the app shows a STANDARD estimate and says so on screen. We don't invent prices, and we don't apply markups to a published price.
Even so, prices, availability, core charges, fees, and taxes are set by yards and marketplaces, not by us. They change, and a yard's published list can be out of date. Resale value, sell-through rate, shipping, and profit figures are estimates based on general market data and your own inputs.
Nothing in the app is a guarantee of price, availability, resale value, or profit. Buying and reselling used auto parts carries real financial risk. Every decision you make with the app is your own.
5. Safety and conduct at the yard
Salvage yards are industrial worksites. You are solely responsible for your own safety, for following the yard's rules, and for complying with every law that applies to buying, removing, transporting, and reselling parts — including any titling, emissions, airbag, or safety-part restrictions in your area. Use of the app while driving or while operating tools is not permitted.
6. Acceptable use
- Don't scrape, bulk-export, resell, or redistribute the app's price data.
- Don't reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app's source or data files.
- Don't use the app to break the law or to violate a yard's or marketplace's own rules.
- Don't attempt to bypass the subscription or interfere with the app's servers.
We may suspend access if the app is being abused in a way that harms the service or other users.
7. Third-party services
The app can open a public search page on an outside marketplace in your browser so you can verify sold prices yourself. Those sites have their own terms and their own sign-in requirements, which they control and can change at any time. We are not responsible for their content, their availability, or their policies.
We carry no affiliate or referral tags. We earn nothing when you tap through to a marketplace.
8. Trademarks
Yard, chain, marketplace, and vehicle names appear only to identify real places, sellers, and vehicles. All such names and marks belong to their respective owners. Sugarcane 8 is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any salvage yard, chain, marketplace, or automaker.
9. Our content
The app, its design, its compiled data sets, and the Sugarcane 8 name and logo are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app — it does not transfer ownership of anything.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any price or estimate in it is accurate or current.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost revenue, wasted trips, wasted labor, or losses on parts you bought or resold. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Changes and termination
We may update the app or these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use the app means you accept them. We may discontinue the app or any feature; if we shut it down mid-subscription, unused paid time may be refunded through Apple. You can end this agreement any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app.
13. Privacy
Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The app is intended for use in the United States; all prices in the app are from US yards.
15. Apple-specific terms
This agreement is between you and us only, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and is not liable for any claim relating to the app, including product-liability, legal-compliance, or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US embargo and are not on any US restricted-parties list.
